Skating Safety Tips

Updated: Sep 28, 2020

Aside from all the restrictions we having during COVID we need to remember that skating can be a fun sport if we follow some basic safety rules.

-Make sure skates fit properly.

-Tie skates tightly and remember to tuck in laces so they don’t get caught.

-Wear a helmet. Falling on ice can lead to serious head injuries including concussions.

-Do not wear pants that flair on the bottom as they can get caught on skates.

-Check the blades to make sure they are appropriately sharpened as dull blades can make you slip.

-Always wear gloves to protect your hands from cold and from injury if you fall in the ice.
