Many people were very torn on how they could continue to play sports during the pandemic. Since many sports involve human contact, there were very limited options that allowed for social distancing. Running, walking, and swimming became popular amongst people wanting to social distance. Many people longed for human interaction though, and these activities didn't cut it. For this reason, tennis became one of the go-to sports during the pandemic. A person on each side of the court ensured social distancing. The ball would be hit by a racket that could easily be cleaned before and after matches. Not switching sides and avoiding contact during games makes this the perfect sport for a pandemic.
